In brief

PME 2 recruitment starts on October 20, 2026 at 9:00 AM. Want a subsidy for your home energy storage system? The equipment must be at least 10 kWh capacity, and the purchase with installation can cost a maximum of PLN 3,000 for 1 kWhThe subsidy covers up to 30% of the costs, up to PLN 800 per 1 kWh and PLN 16,000 in net-billing (PLN 8,000 in net-metering). The recruitment will last until October 1, 2027 (8:00 p.m.) or until the budget is exhausted - according to przydomowemagazyny.gov.pl (as of October 2, 2026). Below are the magazines Growatt from 10 kWh with current price and basket.

Home energy storage Growatt from 10 kWh — PME 2 price and limit

The PME 2 program sets two conditions for the warehouse, which you can check on the product itself: nominal capacity from 10 kWh and the purchase price with assembly is a maximum of PLN 3,000 for 1 kWh capacity - without inverter and EMS system. Below are the warehouses Growatt from 10 kWh to the inverters that it replaces manufacturer's EMS declaration, with current price and basket.

Calculate your program limit yourself - 2 steps. 1) Gross warehouse price from the table ÷ nominal capacity in kWh = price for 1 kWh2) Add assembly to 1 kWh (installer's quote ÷ capacity). The total cannot exceed PLN 3,000 for 1 kWh — this is the purchase and assembly price limit in the PME 2 program according to przydomowemagazyny.gov.pl (as of October 2, 2026). It is within the capacity and price limits - this is not a subsidy decision: The table does not check EMS, island operation, or installation costs. The program operator decides whether to award a subsidy.

What's not here and why. Inverter kits off-grid SPF — series SPF is not included in the manufacturer's EMS declaration, and the program requires a micro-installation connected to the network. ARK do MIN-XH — with this inverter warehouse ARK works only in self-consumption, without emergency power supply. Models discontinued. Other capacities can be found in the category energy storage.

Don't have a hybrid inverter? Ready-made pairs with storage

The program requires island operation (emergency power supply during a grid failure) and an EMS system – these are provided by an inverter. MOD-HU emergency power supply is built in; MIN-XH a box is needed SYN 50-XH-10, and at MID-XH  EU SYN-100-XH-30You add each pair to your cart with two buttons—inverter and magazine. You can add the entire set with one click. configurator Growatt, and you can find more pairs on the website energy storage with inverter.

Home Energy Storage is a priority program that provides homeowners with a photovoltaic system with a non-repayable subsidy for a battery, thermal storage, or hybrid inverter. It is administered by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. This article describes the second part of the Home Energy Storage program, PME 2, from the Modernization Fund.

We write about what the government website doesn't do for you: what conditions the equipment must meet and how to check the price limit of the program for warehouses Growatt from the table at the top of the page.

Home Energy Storage (PME 2) - What is the program about?

The program's goal is to increase self-consumption of energy from grid-connected micro-installations, meaning that the energy produced by the roof can be consumed on-site. The second goal is grid stability and national energy security.

Home energy storage - hybrid inverter Growatt WIT 10K-HU in a photovoltaic installation with energy storage and emergency power supply

The Home Energy Storage Program covers three types of projects: an electricity storage facility for 10 kWh, a heat storage tank of no less than 100 dm3 manufactured in the European Union and a hybrid inverter. The hybrid inverter is an eligible cost only together with the energy storage tank if its purchase or replacement is necessary for the storage tank's operation and if it was manufactured in the EU (program, point 6.1 item 3 with a footnote; FAQ, questions 9 and 10). Growatt are made in China, so their cost should not be included in the subsidy.

The budget for the second part of the program is up to PLN 1,000,000,000, and is entirely allocated to grants. The money comes from the Modernization Fund, not the National Reconstruction Plan. The project's start date is November 1, 2025 —earlier expenditures are not eligible.

The official address of the Home Energy Storage program is przydomowemagazyny.gov.pl – there you will find announcements, document templates and files of the priority program and recruitment regulations (published in October 2026).

How much is the subsidy for energy storage?

The program's funding isn't a lump sum. It's the lowest of three limits calculated simultaneously, and the upper limit depends on the settlement system.

Home energy storage - warehouse Growatt HOPE 16 kWh, capacity meeting the program threshold and the rule of twice the installation power up to 8 kWp

Net billing versus net metering—this determines half the total. In net billing, or value-based billing, energy fed into the grid is converted into money and recorded as a deposit. In net metering, or quantity-based billing, the delivered energy is later collected in kilowatt-hours.

The two systems are separated by the date of reporting the micro-installation for connection: March 31, 2022. The program website refers to it directly in the document confirming net-billing, which is attached by applicants "who changed the billing system from net-metering to net-billing", and "the installation was reported for connection by March 31, 2022".

The impact is tangible: the subsidy limit is PLN 16,000 for net billing, compared to PLN 8,000 for net metering. Those who reported their installation by March 31, 2022, and remained on net metering have their limit reduced by half; those who switch to net billing must attach an additional document to their application.

The program addresses the most important issue: those who switch from net metering to net billing are limited to PLN 16,000 (section 7.2, item 1, letter a). Changing the system is not a condition for the subsidy; it only affects its amount (FAQ, question 5). You will find your billing system in your comprehensive agreement or energy sales agreement. We do not advise changing the system: it is a decision with broader implications than the subsidy itself.

Element Amount of funding
Energy storage, net-billing (value) up to 30% of eligible costs, not more than PLN 800 per 1 kWh nominal capacity, totalling no more than PLN 16 per warehouse
Energy storage, net-metering (quantitative) settlement up to 30% of eligible costs, not more than PLN 800 per 1 kWh nominal capacity, totalling no more than PLN 8 per warehouse
Heat storage up to 30% of eligible costs, not more than PLN 1 per heat storage facility
Surcharge for a device manufactured in the European Union up to PLN 2, not more than 50% of the eligible cost of purchase and installation of an energy storage facility; one-time application
Maximum total per Power Point (PPE) PLN 19

The formula for the energy storage subsidy looks like this:

dotacja = min(30% × koszt kwalifikowany; 800 zł × pojemność w kWh; 16 000 zł lub 8 000 zł)

When the subsidy reaches PLN 16,000 – the arithmetic of limits

The subsidy is the lowest of the three values in the formula. The PLN 16,000 limit only becomes applicable when the eligible cost is approximately PLN 53,333, as PLN 16,000 ÷ 0,30 ≈ PLN 53,333. In net metering, the PLN 8,000 limit ties in approximately PLN 26,667 of eligible costs (PLN 8,000 ÷ 0,30).

The rate is 800 PLN for 1 kWh lowers the maximum for small warehouses: for 10 kWh is 8,000 PLN, for 15 kWh — 12,000 PLN. Only from 20 kWh rate gives at least PLN 16,000. Instead of the 30% threshold, it binds when the eligible cost exceeds approximately PLN 2,667 per 1 kWh capacity (PLN 800 ÷ 0,30).

Example with assumed cost, not from the price list: warehouse 20 kWh, purchase with installation for PLN 30,000, net-billing settlement.

  • 30% of 30,000 PLN is PLN 9,
  • 800 PLN × 20 kWh is 16,000 PLN,
  • the limit for net-billing is PLN 16,000.

The lowest of the three values is PLN 9,000 — and that is the subsidy amount. The same cost is PLN 1,500 for 1 kWh, so it is also within the price limit of PLN 3,000 for 1 kWh.

Installation costs are also eligible costs, so the amount for your own installation is calculated based on the sum of equipment + installation. The binding amount is determined by the program operator.

The European Union Production Allowance - We're Straight Talking

The allowance is payable once for a hybrid inverter or energy storage device manufactured in the European Union.

We'll say it without further ado. Brand devices Growatt are made in China. We do not claim that the equipment we offer entitles you to this benefit. We do not operate heat storage facilities, and the program requires EU production for them.

Who can get funding from the PME 2 program?

The applicant must be an individual generating energy for their own needs, a party to a comprehensive agreement or energy sales agreement, and not an authorized representative. The entry requirement is a micro-installation connected to the grid. Support covers devices in a residential building or on its property.

One exclusion determines the nature of the program. Applicants cannot be individuals with a comprehensive agreement or an energy sales agreement concluded in connection with their own business activity at the micro-installation address. Simply put: this program is for homeowners, not businesses. The installation company is the contractor.

What devices qualify - Energy storage conditions

Home energy storage - battery kit Growatt APX 2.0 with a capacity of 20 kWh meeting the threshold of 10 kWh and the rule of twice the installation power

This is where most of the "eyeball" kits fall by the wayside. The Home Energy Storage Program imposes five strict conditions.

Capacity from 10 kWh. Below this threshold, the device is not eligible for the second part of the program.

The rule of two. The nominal capacity of the storage unit in watt-hours must be equal to or greater than twice the peak power of the photovoltaic installation in watt-hours. This is the requirement, not the 10-watt threshold. kWh, most often overturns selection.

kWp a kWh these are two different sizes. Kilowatt peak power (kWp) describes the peak power of the installation, i.e. how much the panels produce at a given moment under test conditions. Kilowatt hour (kWh) describes the storage capacity. The program compares them: the storage's watt-hours must be at least twice as large as the installation's watt-hours.

Power of the photovoltaic installation Minimum warehouse capacity
5 kWp 10 kWh
6 kWp 12 kWh
8 kWp 16 kWh
10 kWp 20 kWh
12 kWp 24 kWh
15 kWp 30 kWh

Threshold 10 kWh so only up to 5 kWp is sufficient; a typical 8–10 kWp roof requires 16–20 kWh.

Price limit PLN 3,000 for 1 kWh. The purchase and installation price of the warehouse, without supporting devices such as an inverter or EMS system, cannot exceed PLN 3,000 per 1 kWh nominal capacity. For warehouses Growatt You can calculate it yourself from the table at the top of the page: gross price ÷ nominal capacity in kWh, plus assembly on 1 kWh — the sum cannot exceed PLN 3,000.

Islanding. The capability for islanding, meaning emergency power supply during a temporary or local grid failure, must be demonstrated. The program assigns this responsibility to an inverter or a set of devices working in conjunction with the storage facility—a battery alone cannot fulfill this requirement.

Energy Management System (EMS). The storage system must have an energy management function, either built into the inverter or externally. Minimum functionality includes charge control, discharge control, and time-based profile operation.

The Home Energy Storage Program does not recognize simple controllers or visualization applications without decision-making functions or analyzing weather or economic data as EMS. Cybersecurity requirements from European regulations are also included: NIS2, CRA, RED DA, and ETSI EN 303 645. A footnote on the program website (not in the priority program) limits RED DA and ETSI EN 303 645 to devices manufactured after these documents entered into force.

Mobile warehouses, such as traction vehicles and warehouses, as well as batteries and kits assembled independently or without safety certification, remain outside the program.

For brand hybrid inverters Growatt there is a signed manufacturer's declaration Growatt covering CRA, RED DA and ETSI EN 303 645, with energy price arbitrage and prediction based on weather forecasts.

The program lists four documents, and the declaration refers to three - NIS2 does not appear in it; we don't speculate why. The analysis of weather and price data is powered by AI Smart Scheduling Mode on the platform Growatt OSS and depends on meeting device, firmware, and communication requirements—it is not an out-of-the-box feature. The declaration lists the MIN-XH, MOD-XH, MOD-HU inverter series, MID-XH, WIT-HU and SPH BH-UP — you can find the magazines for them in the table at the top of the page. We elaborate on the technical specifications of the equipment in the text about conditions for co-financing the energy storage.

You will find the battery offer in the category energy storage, inverter selection in configurator, and the selection of capacity in the guide kWh energy storageWe describe warehouses separately according to capacity: energy storage 10 kWh, 15 kWh, 20 kWh i 30 kWh, and ready-made inverter + storage pairs — on the website energy storage with inverter.

PME 2 recruitment dates - as of October 2, 2026

The Home Energy Storage program website states: "The application process will open on October 20, 2026, at 9:00 AM." The application deadline is specified in the application regulations: applications are accepted "in a continuous process from October 20, 2026, at 9:00 AM to October 1, 2027, at 8:00 PM, or until the total amount of funding from submitted applications reaches the budget." The form in the GWD is only available once the application process opens.

Recruitment is continuous but limited by budget (up to PLN 1 billion). According to the recruitment regulations, once the budget is exhausted, it will not be possible to submit new applications, and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management will block the form in the General Directorate for Water Management. Previously, min only quarterly: August 31, 2026 — Q3, September 25, 2026 — Q4 2026. Some sections of the program website still generally indicate Q4 2026; the date and time are determined by the announcement on the program website, in accordance with the recruitment regulations.

Practical conclusion: home energy storage units can be purchased and installed now, as costs are eligible from November 1, 2025. The application is submitted only after the investment is completed: all invoice items must be paid in full, the devices must be connected and commissioned (acceptance protocol), and the storage unit must be reported to the grid operator (DSO).

What was clarified by the PME 2 program published in October 2026

As of October 2026, the program website includes files on the priority program and recruitment regulations, as well as 18 FAQs. The amounts and basic conditions for the warehouse are the same as above. There are also some new provisions worth knowing before purchasing:

  • New devices. The devices must be "installed as new, manufactured within 24 months of installation" (program, section 7.3 item 15).
  • Transport outside the subsidy. "Transport, shipping, forwarding, or customs costs are not eligible" (section 7.3, point 10). The invoice must detail all the elements you are applying for, including the energy management system (point 22). The EMS system itself is not an eligible cost, although it is a condition for the grant (FAQ, question 10).
  • 5 years of operation. The devices must be operated at the address specified in the application for at least 5 years from the date of payment of the subsidy (item 16), and the ratio of storage capacity to photovoltaic power must be maintained throughout this period (FAQ, question 12).
  • Twice without tolerance. "The storage capacity cannot be even slightly less than twice the capacity" (FAQ, question 12). Expansion to the required capacity is only possible with additional modules of the same model, provided the manufacturer allows it, and all parts have been purchased, installed, and reported to the DSO by November 1, 2025 (question 13). The program states, however, that expanding an existing micro-installation does not affect the subsidy, provided the 50 kW limit is maintained (section 7.5, items 15-16). Sources vary here, so before expanding the photovoltaic system during its useful life, check with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) and maintain the double limit.
  • No double subsidy. Anyone who received a subsidy for energy storage from another program, such as My Electricity, will not receive it in PME 2, including for expansion (FAQ, questions 4 and 15). A previous subsidy for photovoltaics alone is not a problem (question 10).
  • Only installation connected to the network. If the network operator confirms that the installation is working in the system off-grid, the grant will not be awarded (FAQ, question 2).
  • Power limit. The total power of the prosumer's renewable energy installation together with the energy storage cannot exceed 50 kW (program, point 7.5 item 15).
  • Information board. After receiving the grant, a permanent board with the logos, no smaller than A4, must be placed in a visible place (point 9.1, item 3).

Formalities that cause an application to be returned or rejected

  • The applicant is a party to a comprehensive agreement or an energy sales agreement. The application is submitted by a person who is a party to a comprehensive agreement or energy sales agreement and is typically listed on the DSO certificate as a prosumer. A spouse cannot be designated as the applicant; at most, they can sign the application as a proxy (§1 section 14 of the recruitment regulations). The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management does not accept agreements transferred to the applicant after the application submission date, except in the event of the death of the first applicant (§1 section 15).
  • OSD certificate on the current template, with warehouse details. The document must include the installation parameters, the PPE number, and the registered energy storage device. A certificate using the old template requires supplementing the application, and a declaration of storage registration from the Mój Prąd program is not accepted (program website; FAQ, question 16). It's a good idea to order a new certificate from your grid operator before October 20th.
  • An invoice from a spouse with a company does not count. If the delivery or assembly is performed by a spouse running a business and the spouses are bound by statutory joint property, such costs are not eligible under the program. In such cases, invoices for the purchase of materials must be attached and the application must indicate that the assembly is independent (program, section 9.2, item 10; §1, paragraph 16 of the recruitment regulations).
  • Installer buying for himself. Anyone who runs a business in the supply and installation of these devices and attaches an invoice issued to the company must attach a declaration that it has not been included in the operating costs (point 9.2, item 12).
  • Leasing For equipment financed by leasing, a subsidy is only available if the ownership title has been transferred to the applicant before the application is submitted (point 7.3, item 24).
  • Invoice to be paid. The subsidy is transferred exclusively to the applicant’s account or the account of which he or she is a co-owner (point 9.2, item 11).
  • Contact with NFOŚiGW by e-mail, supplements only in GWD. After submitting the application, correspondence will be sent to the address provided in the application, from pme_2@nfosigw.gov.pl or from the address of a NFOŚiGW employee (§1 sec. 6, §4 sec. 1). According to the recruitment regulations, you must also check your "SPAM" and "Offers" folders (§1 sec. 6-7). The lack of acknowledgment of receipt does not suspend the deadlines (§1 sec. 8), and you have up to 10 business days from the day following the request to supplement the application (§5 sec. 4). Home energy storage program and other support

The first part of the Home Energy Storage program, i.e. PME 1 from the National Reconstruction Plan, had a recruitment period from March 30 to June 19, 2026 and is closed; the terms of both editions cannot be mixed.

The second most frequently asked about track is My Current. The last edition was My Current 6, and recruitment has closed. 12 September 2025 The program is closed and witgutter mojprad.gov.pl states explicitly that "Mój Prąd 7.0" will not be implemented in its current formula. From August 1, 2024, energy or heat storage was mandatory for new 2-20 kW installations.

The only announced subsidy path for home energy storage facilities remains PME 2 – with a call for applications from October 20, 2026. In addition to the subsidy, there is tax support, independent of the call for applications.

Thermal modernization relief and energy storage

Energy storage facilities and heat storage facilities are covered by the thermal modernisation tax relief from 1 January 2025. The basis is the regulation of the Minister of Development and Technology of 19 December 2024 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1943).

The relief involves deducting expenses from the tax base. The limit is PLN 53,000 per person, or PLN 106,000 for a married couple, and for owners or co-owners of existing single-family homes, including terraced and semi-detached houses.

Combining relief with a subsidy is governed by the PME 2 program: if you settle the cost of subsidized equipment under the thermal modernization relief, the tax deductible amount is reduced by the amount of the subsidy received (program, section 7.3, item 20). The subsidy itself is not taxable (section 9.2, item 6). Confirm your settlement on podatki.gov.pl or with a tax advisor.

Frequently asked questions about home energy storage

When does PME 2 recruitment start?

October 20, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Recruitment is continuous and will last until October 1, 2027 (20:00 p.m.) or until the program budget is exhausted (as of October 2, 2026, przydomowemagazyny.gov.pl).

Is there a 5-liter warehouse? kWh qualifies for the program?

No. The program requires a capacity of 10 kWh, and the doubling rule raises the threshold for an 8 kWp installation to 16 kWh.

Will I get a PLN 16,000 grant?

Only with an eligible cost of at least PLN 53,333, with a capacity of 20 kWh and net-billing. For lower costs, the subsidy is 30% of the eligible cost, and for warehouses below 20 kWh It is also limited by the rate of PLN 800 per 1 kWhThe net metering limit is PLN 8,000.

How much does a home energy storage facility cost?

Depends on capacity and voltage class. Current warehouse prices Growatt from 10 to 30 kWh You can see the price table at the top of the page—we download them from the store each time you view them. Add installation to the equipment price: in PME 2, the purchase including installation cannot exceed PLN 3,000 for 1 unit. kWh capacity.

Will I get a subsidy for the energy storage itself?

Yes – the program finances the purchase and installation of the energy storage device itself. A hybrid inverter is only eligible for inclusion in the energy storage device if its purchase or replacement is necessary for the storage device's operation and if it was manufactured in the EU (program, section 6.1, item 3 with footnote; FAQ, questions 9 and 10). Growatt are made in China, so their cost should not be included in the subsidy. The islanding and EMS requirements then apply to the inverter you already have or the devices connected to the warehouse.

What are the disadvantages of energy storage?

Three things to know before buying. The warehouse is heavy: the system APX 10 kWh According to the data sheet, it weighs 98,2 kg, and the manufacturer recommends floor mounting. Not every warehouse can be mounted outdoors: APX has an IP66 protection rating, and HOPE 16.0LM-A1 — IP20, meaning indoor use only. The storage unit doesn't operate on its own: its capabilities (emergency power supply, charge control) depend on the inverter. The PME 2 program adds EMS, islanding, and the two-fold rule.

How long does it take to charge the energy storage 10? kWh?

The shortest time is about 2 hours: system card APX 10 kWh gives a maximum power of 5 kW, and 10 kWh ÷ 5 kW = 2 h. In practice, longer—charging power is limited by the inverter and the amount of energy the photovoltaic system is currently producing. The data sheet doesn't specify depth of discharge or efficiency, so we rely on the nominal capacity.

Can a company submit an application?

No. The applicant is a natural person, excluding a person with a comprehensive contract concluded for business activity at the micro-installation address.

Is the manufacturer's production preview application sufficient as EMS?

No. The program does not recognize simple controllers or visualization applications without decision-making functions or analyzing weather or economic data as EMS systems.

Is the equipment on the market confirmed to be compliant with EMS cybersecurity requirements?

For brand hybrid inverters Growatt exists manufacturer's declaration Growatt covering CRA, RED DA and ETSI EN 303 645. NIS2 is not covered. The declaration lists the MIN-XH, MOD-XH, MOD-HU inverter series, MID-XH, WIT-HU and SPH BH-UP. The program does not publish a list of devices deemed compliant, so you should ask your supplier for this document before purchasing.

Does a magazine purchased before recruitment count?

Yes, as long as the date of purchase, installation, and notification to the operator falls on or after November 1, 2025. You submit the application after the investment is completed (program, section 7.3, item 13). The devices must be new, manufactured within 24 months of installation (item 15), and the warehouse cannot have previously received a subsidy from another program (FAQ, question 15).

Will I get an additional PLN 2,000 for equipment from the European Union?

The allowance applies to a hybrid inverter or storage device manufactured in the European Union. Brand devices Growatt are made in China, so we do not declare this additive for them.

Can an energy storage facility be deducted from the thermal modernization tax relief?

Yes, from January 1, 2025, based on the regulation of the Minister of Development and Technology of December 19, 2024 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1943). The limit is PLN 53,000 per person and PLN 106,000 per married couple, for owners or co-owners of existing single-family buildings. For investments with the PME 2 subsidy, the deductible amount is reduced by the amount of the subsidy received (PME 2 program, point 7.3 item 20) — confirm your settlement on podatki.gov.pl or with a tax advisor.

Does the inverter count towards the PLN 3,000 limit for 1 kWh?

No. The limit applies to the purchase and installation of a warehouse without the supporting equipment listed in the program as an inverter and EMS system.

Does the PME 2 grant cover the cost of shipping the energy storage unit?

No. The PME 2 programme states: "Transport, shipping, forwarding or customs costs are not eligible costs" (point 7.3, point 10).

Will I receive a PME 2 subsidy if the energy storage facility already received a subsidy from the My Electricity program?

No. According to the program's FAQ, if the energy storage facility has received funding under another program, e.g. My Electricity, Clean Air or a municipal program, it cannot be re-applied for a subsidy for the energy storage facility – including for its expansion (questions 4 and 15).

Does an invoice from a husband or wife with an installation company count?

No, if the spouses are bound by statutory community of property – such costs are not eligible under the PME 2 program (point 9.2, item 10). In such cases, attach invoices for materials and indicate that the installation was self-assembled (§1, section 16 of the recruitment regulations).
