Error codes Growatt MIN/MOD/MID - full index of Warning and Error from the manual
Error codes Growatt MIN, MOD and series MID read after the first digit: 2xx = PV side, 3xx = AC network, 4xx = internal systems, 6xx–7xx = off-grid and backup, and the number with brackets, e.g. 506(3), indicates the battery circuit. Warning = warning during operation, Error = disconnection; standard: one restart, notification on reversal.
Error codes Growatt in the MIN, MOD and MID They share a common three-digit numbering and a common logic that, when understood, simplifies any diagnostics: the first digit tells you where to look for the cause, and the Warning/Error distinction tells you whether the inverter is still running or has already tripped. This page is a complete index of error codes. Growatt collected from MOD TL3-XH instructions (rev. 202405), common for twin tables MID and—in three-digit numbering—single-phase MIN. We'll leave the descriptions as they are (as displayed by the equipment and monitoring), and the area column tells you where to look in Polish. If you arrived here with a specific number on the screen, jump straight to the maps below; if you want to understand the system, start with the section on hundreds and brackets.
How to read error codes Growatt — hundreds and brackets

Error codes Growatt are arranged in a two-dimensional system. The first dimension: the type of message. Warning is a warning - the inverter signals a deviation, usually continuing operation; Error is a fault - the unit goes into error mode and the standard procedure is to restart it, and in case of repetition, contact the service. The second dimension: the first digit of the code. The 200s refer to the PV side and the DC input, the 300s - to the AC network (and overloads). off-grid), four hundred — internal circuits of the inverter, six hundred — outputs off-grid, seven hundred - backup track. Codes with a suffix in brackets, e.g. 411(5) or 506(2), come from separate battery tables and indicate the system BMS/power module, not for inverter.
The practical minimum, before you look at the tables: you can read the code on the OLED screen (the Fault code item is in the Battery Info section, and the model and serial number are in About) and in the monitoring app. For a service request, gather the complete manufacturer's checklist: SN, model, exact message, AC and DC voltages, repeatability, and conditions.
| Range | System area | Typical examples | Where to start |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2xx | PV / DC side | 202 PV voltage over threshold, 203 isolation, 204 reverse string | DC disconnector, string measurements, grounding |
| 3xx | AC network / off-grid | 300 grid voltage, 302 grid failure, 309 ROCOF, 311 export limit fail-safe | voltage measurement, N/PE wiring - full procedure in the article about Error 300 |
| 4xx | internal systems | 405 relay, 408 temperature, 411 internal communication | restart; repeat = service, not subsequent restarts |
| 6xx–7xx | off-grid and backup box | 607 overload off-grid, 701 backup box relay | EPS output load, cabling and communication SYN |
| NNN(x) | battery: BMS / power module | 411(5) BM communication, 506(3) reverse power cables | cables and pairing BMS — guide in a separate entry |
What purpose does this index serve in daily work? First, as the first line of telephone qualification: the customer reads the number, and you know in ten seconds whether to pack a meter, an RS485 cable, or battery track components. Second, as a dictionary for monitoring—error codes. Growatt In the application, they are displayed exactly as they appear in the tables below, so the original description column allows you to clearly pair the request with the instruction line. Third, as a cross-reference map: the most common items have full procedure articles in our knowledge base, and the index tells you which one is which. We update the page as the instructions are revised—you can find the revision date in the article footer.

MIN vs. MOD/MID — where the numbering matches and where it doesn't
Single-phase MIN TL-X use the same three-digit logic, but their Polish manual describes a narrower subset—and a few specific items. Common with MOD/MID include network 300/302/304, PV 202/203 and internal 405/408/409/411. MIN specific: Error 303 defined as N-PE voltage above 30 V (in MOD/MID three hundred with this number does not occur, but 303 as Warning means overload off-grid) and Error 414 for EEPROM memory. Warning 401 about communication with the counter in MOD/MID equivalent to Error 311 at the limit function level.
Orderly motion: error codes Growatt is always read as a pair "number + series." The same number in two families can mean different things - that's why the index has an area column, and when diagnosing by phone, the first question is "what model?", not "what code?" - error codes Growatt without the context of the series it is not enough to decide anything.
Error codes Growattwhich come back most often - where do they lead
Eight index items deserve to be expanded on, because they are where error codes are placed. Growatt entered into the search engine in the evenings. Error 300 / Warning 301 (grid voltage) is statistically the number one problem of Polish installations - full diagnostics with two-point measurement and the reporting path to the DSO are described in a dedicated article on high grid voltage. Error 311 means the export limit system loses measurement - the first step is to connect the CT and the meter, and the entire configuration is covered in the article about export limit. Error 202 tells you to immediately disconnect the DC and measure the string voltage - this is a design error in the string selection, not a defect. Error 203 (insulation) in Polish instructions MIN has the most specific procedure: earthing, dry disconnector and PV± impedance to earth above 25 kΩ, and according to VDE0126 — 500 kΩ.
Warning 401 na MIN this is a broken communication with the meter - check the power supply and connection. Error 408 (temperature) requires checking the airflow and restarting after cooling; the Polish manual specifies restarting at an ambient temperature below 60°C. Warning 303 / Error 305–307 in the family off-grid is an emergency exit overload - the cure is to reduce the EPS load. 5xx codes with brackets — headed by 506(3), i.e. inverted power cables between the PM module and the inverter — they lead to the battery track; there the pairing logic applies BMS from our guide.
What NOT to do when getting error codes
- Do not diagnose from memory of other series numbering - error codes Growatt in the family WIT have their own tables (described in a separate article), and older generations have different ones; always read the table in your unit's manual.
- Do not restart in a loop - the procedure says: ONE restart, and in case of relapse, report; the tenth restart will not repair the relay, but will blur the image of the fault.
- Don't ignore the brackets in the code - 411 and 411(5) are two different faults on two different devices.
- Do not work with Error 202 "because the sun will go down soon" - the instructions tell you to disconnect the DC immediately; exceeded string voltage is a real threat.
- Do not report "inverter shows error" - without the number, SN and circumstances, the report will be returned with questions instead of a solution.
- Don't confuse Error 301 (AC terminals reversed) with voltage problems - it's an installation error.
From the installer's practice
Four service habits around codes – practical tips, not manufacturer requirements.
- From practice: print this map and leave it at the distribution center - a customer dictating "Error 411 with a five" on the phone saves you a reconnaissance trip.
- From practice: with 3xx codes, always ask about the time of occurrence - "noon on a sunny day" almost determines the network voltage before you even take the meter out of the service bag.
- From practice: attach a screenshot of the application with a visible code and time to each report - the timestamp is sometimes more important than the number itself, as it allows the service to look at the logs from the correct moment.
- From practice: after eliminating the cause, record the code and repair in the object card - the third repetition of the same number in the card is a strong argument for replacing the component - but only if you keep this history from the first occurrence.
FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions about Error Codes Growatt
Where are the error codes Growatt can you see the fastest?
On the unit's OLED display (the section with the Fault code entry) and in the monitoring application—provided the datalogger has good connectivity. In practice, monitoring wins because it also displays a history of occurrences with hours, which the device screen doesn't.
What is the difference between Warning and Error?
Warning is a deviation at which the unit normally continues to operate; Error is a fault with a disconnection and error mode. The procedures in the tables differ accordingly: warnings are more likely to indicate an item to check, errors are more likely to indicate restart and escalation.
Do these codes also apply to my inverter? WIT or SPF?
Indirectly. Family WIT has its own tables (our separate index), series SPF — its own numbering described in the service article. The only common features are the Warning/Error logic and the principle of reading the codes from the manual for your specific unit.
What does a code that is not in this table mean?
The table reflects the MOD revision 202405 manual—newer firmware can add codes that the older version doesn't describe. In such a situation, check the manufacturer's download center for the latest manual revision, and if there's no entry, report the code to support with the complete data; we don't guess meanings that the document doesn't provide.
Error codes Growatt appear and disappear - report?
Always note and report according to the recurrence rule: a one-time episode after a transient state is an observation, a code that returns after a restart is a report. The history of occurrences with dates is half the value of the report; the other half is the exact code number with parentheses.
