The answer to the question of how much an energy storage unit costs usually ends with a table. This text goes further and shows the mechanisms behind the table: why two storage units with the same capacity can differ by several thousand zlotys, why in one series the price per kilowatt-hour doesn't move from 5 to 30. kWh, and in another it drops with each degree, and at what point in the price list the inverter takes away the opportunity to buy cheaper.

What determines the cost of energy storage?

The cost of an energy storage system is determined by four factors. Three of these are beyond the buyer's control, as they result from the system's design. The fourth depends on the size of the system being built.

The voltage class that the inverter imposes

Low voltage LV batteries operate at a voltage of approximately 51,2 V and work with single-phase inverters. SPH and inverters off-grid SPFHigh-voltage HV batteries operate at voltages of hundreds of volts and work with three-phase SPH, MOD inverters, MID and WIT (source: description of energy storage categories, GROWATT-KEY-PARAMETERS.md, sections "LV battery" and "HV battery"). The classes are not interchangeable. The inverter accepts only one of them, so the price selection starts with the inverter, not the budget.

Number of modules instead of any capacity

The batteries have a modular structure and the capacity of the set is a multiple of the module. ARK 2.5L-A2 has 2,56 kWh. Modules AXE 5.0L-C1, ALP 5.0L-E2 and APX 5.0P-B1 have 5,0 each kWh. HOPE 5.0L-B1 on 5,12 kWh, HOPE 14.3L-A1 — 14,3 kWh, HOPE 16LM — 16 kWh (GROWATT-KEY-PARAMETERS.md). There are no intermediate capacities: between 5 and 10 kWh in the series ALP there is nothing that can be bought.

BMS and accessories that are not visible in the name

Some modules have a built-in battery management system - this is the case AXE 5.0L-C1. Part requires a separate system: ARK 2.5H-A2 works with BMS HVC 60050-C2, APX HV with BMS APX 98034-P2In the family APX Gen 2.0 feature BMS takes over the Master 5.0M-B3 module (GROWATT-KEY-PARAMETERS.md, sections "HV battery" and "BMS"). The price list shows this clearly. Master Module APX 5.0M-B3 with BMS costs PLN 13,770.49, and expansion module APX 5.0P-B3 with the same capacity 5 kWh — PLN 4,900.68. The same number of kilowatt-hours, a difference of PLN 556,88, and all this difference is made by the control electronics.

System scale

The larger the system, the lower the cost per kilowatt-hour, because the fixed costs of the housing, control, and wiring are spread over a larger capacity. The word "sometimes" is deliberate here: in some series, this mechanism will not work at all, and the price for kWh remains the same regardless of the size of the system. The cost of energy storage at each subsequent capacity level is shown in the numbers below.

For a complete overview of the series, please see the overview energy storage - full offer, and the selection of the series for a specific inverter is described in the article energy storage Growatt.

Editor's note: store prices change independently of this article. The tables above are a snapshot of the price list as of August 31, 2026, and will need to be updated after any price changes. The price of an energy storage unit on a given day is determined by the product card, not this table—please check the price on the card before ordering.

The capacity list corresponds to the selection table from the description of the energy storage category: 5 kWh is a single module, 10 kWh these are two modules of 5 kWh or four ARK modules, 15–16 kWh these are three modules of 5 kWh or a single battery HOPE 16LM, and above 30 kWh include clusters and rack systems.

Which of the systems 60, 80 and 100 kWh which inverter does it fit? WIT, how many hours it lasts and what formalities it requires, we describe in the article energy storage 100 kWh.

Over 100 kWh includes cabinets intended for industrial and commercial facilities, cooperating with industrial inverters.

With these capacities, the selection is no longer a matter of the battery itself. The rack system is selected together with an industrial inverter, and the latter determines the charging and discharging power. The scope of cooperation between individual racks and inverters is described in the article about selecting an energy storage device for the inverter Growatt.

What the kit includes and what a single module doesn't

The answer to the question how much does energy storage cost 5 kWh, has two versions in the price list, and both are correct. The same capacity is available in two forms: as a single battery module and as a kit designed for a specific inverter family. The difference in name is simple, but the price difference is several hundred zlotys, and for the HV class, several thousand.

The description of the energy storage category says what the set includes: a battery assembled for the inverter is delivered "with BMS, base and wiring." The module purchased separately is just the battery, and the rest must be selected.

The easiest way to see this is in one series. Module ALP 5.0L costs PLN 13,770.49, and set ALP 5 kWh for inverters SPF — PLN 3,688.29. Same capacity, same series, difference PLN 327,98 (editorial arithmetic based on prices as of August 31, 2026).

Where does the price difference in the HV class come from?

In a high-voltage battery the same difference becomes much more pronounced, because BMS is a separate device there, not an option. Module ARK 2.5H-A2 with a capacity of 2,56 kWh The set costs PLN 2,453.58. ARK 7,68 kWh for inverters MIDThe -XH consists of three such modules and costs PLN 9,165.43. The three modules individually cost PLN 7,360.74, so the hardware costs PLN 1,804.69.

Now do the same thing one module higher. Set ARK 10,24 kWh consists of four modules, which separately cost PLN 9,814.32, and the set itself costs PLN 11,635.65. The accessories cost PLN 1,821.33. Both numbers are almost identical, although the capacity has increased by one-third (editorial arithmetic, prices from August 31, 2026). This is the whole secret of the price per kilowatt-hour in the HV class: the control cost is fixed, so it is spread over 7,68 kWh gives 1,193 PLN for kWh, and decomposed into 10,24 kWh — already PLN 1,136.

Why the price for kWh sometimes it stands still, sometimes it falls

The cost of energy storage per kilowatt-hour doesn't automatically decrease with system size. Economies of scale aren't a rule, but rather a characteristic of a specific series. This becomes apparent when comparing two series sold in the same form—inverter kits. off-grid SPF.

sets HOPE They scale linearly to the penny. Price for a set of 5 kWh is PLN 3,442.62; multiplied by two, three, four, five and six gives the exact prices for sets of 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 kWh from the table above, with a deviation of one grosz in rounding. This is why there is a column with the same number for six rows: PLN 689 for kWh. When purchasing a larger set HOPE, you simply buy more of the same rack modules – and pay the same price per unit.

Door Line ALP behaves differently. Prices per kilowatt-hour are gradually decreasing there: PLN 738 at 5 kWh, 706 PLN for 10 kWh, 695 PLN at 15 kWh, 690 PLN for 20 kWh and 687 PLN at 25 kWhTwo sets ALP After 5 kWh would cost PLN 7,376.58, and one set of 10 kWh — PLN 7,056.94. The difference of PLN 319,64 is close to that of a single module ALP There's an additional fee to complete the set. We interpret the similarity editorially - the manufacturer doesn't confirm it.

The rack grows in leaps and bounds, not smoothly.

Rack systems AXE have another rhythm. The price for kWh drops from PLN 918 at 30 kWh up to PLN 863 at 50 kWh, and then — instead of falling further — it returns to PLN 918 at 60 kWh and again it goes down to PLN 863 at 100 kWhThe explanation lies in the design: the documentation describes the rack AXE 5.0H-E1 as a 30–60 system kWh (GROWATT-KEY-PARAMETERS.md, section "HV battery"), so above this limit, a second cabinet is placed and the cycle begins again. This is confirmed by the price list: 60 kWh it's doubled to the penny 30 kWh, 90 kWh that's double 45 kWh, at 100 kWh — double 50 kWh (editorial arithmetic).

Only the wardrobes ACE They break this pattern and go down to PLN 680 and PLN 646 for kWh, which is below the unit price of most home solutions.

How much does an energy storage unit cost when the inverter imposes a voltage class?

The price list's description of the energy storage cost for a specific project differs when the inverter is already installed or selected. In such cases, part of the price column is unavailable, even though it is visible on the screen.

Take capacity 10 kWhThe cost of an energy storage unit of this size depends solely on what the inverter requires. In the LV class, the set HOPE 10 kWh costs PLN 6,885.24, variant ALP 10 kWh — PLN 7,056.94. In the HV class, the closest capacity, i.e. a set ARK 10,24 kWh for inverters MID-XH, costs PLN 11,635.65. The difference between the extreme positions exceeds PLN 4,700 with virtually the same capacity.

Three prices for the same 10 kWh

There is no choice between them. Three-phase inverter MID-XH adopts high voltage battery and only such; inverter off-grid SPF accepts LV. If the project states MID-XH, the cheaper price range is not an option to consider, but a different system. Therefore, when comparing offers, the first question is not "how much does it cost," but "what does the inverter accept?"

The practical consequence concerns the order of decisions. If the inverter doesn't exist yet, the voltage class is selected along with it, and then the battery price is one of the arguments. If the inverter is already hanging on the wall, the battery price is a result, not a choice. You can check the compatibility ranges of the individual series in the tool. inverter and battery configurator Growatt, and full technical documentation is provided by the manufacturer download zone Growatt.

Energy storage 10 kW or 10 kWh — what are you actually buying

The most common search query is "energy storage 10 kW price." It's almost always about a capacity of 10 kWh, not 10 kW. These are two different sizes and mixing them spoils any comparison of offers.

  • Kilowatt (kW) is power. This is provided by the inverter: it tells you how much energy the system can produce at a given moment. The SPH10000TL-HU inverter has a power output of 10 kW.
  • Kilowatt hour (kWh) is the capacity. It is provided by the battery: it tells how much energy the storage unit can store in total. HOPE 10 kWh has a capacity of 10 kWh.

The question "how much does a 10 kW energy storage unit cost" is therefore a question about the price of a 10 kW battery. kWh — and you'll find this price in the table above. Power is priced separately, along with the inverter. The methodology for determining the required capacity is described separately in the article. kWh energy storage; here we do not count the demand a second time.

When modules give way to rack systems

When asked how much rack-mounted energy storage costs compared to modular storage, the usual answer is: above a certain capacity, rack-mounted storage is expected to be cheaper per kilowatt-hour. Our price list doesn't confirm this.

Modular set HOPE 30 kWh costs PLN 35,422.49, or PLN 689 per kWh. Rack system AXE 30 kWh costs PLN 35,422.49, or PLN 918 per kWhThe same capacity, but the rack is PLN 6,879.82 more expensive. The lowest price per kilowatt-hour in the entire comparison is for a single battery, not the system: HOPE 16.0LM-A1 gives 16 kWh for PLN 3,255.75, or PLN 515 per kWh, because the cost of one housing and one control system is immediately spread over sixteen kilowatt-hours.

The decision to upgrade to a rack is therefore based on the system design, not the price arithmetic. AXE 5.0H-E1 works with inverters WIT XHU, and the wardrobe ACE 209H-2H with industrial inverters of the same family (GROWATT-KEY-PARAMETERS.md, section "HV battery"). When a project requires an industrial inverter, a rack-mount battery is the only way to go - and then its price for kWh ceases to be a point of comparison with the home solution.

The second reason is physical. LV batteries scale by connecting modules in parallel: HOPE 16LM to 48 pieces, i.e. 768 kWh, and clusters AXE 5.0L-C1 up to 400 kWh (GROWATT-KEY-PARAMETERS.md). With such numbers, a wall of modules is no longer a serviceable solution and the cabinet wins in terms of organization, not price.

Expansion in stages and purchase of full capacity at once

The question of how much an energy storage system costs when purchased in stages is usually asked when the budget doesn't cover the full capacity. The answer depends on the series and is reflected in the price list.

In the series HOPE Adding modules is price-neutral. Since the set is 30 kWh costs exactly six times as much as a set of 5 kWh, then dividing the purchase into stages doesn't cost a penny more than buying it all at once - as long as prices don't change. ALP it's the other way around: two sets of 5 kWh they cost PLN 319,64 more than one set of 10 kWh, so staging has its price here.

In the HV class, the calculation looks even different. ARK 7,68 kWh plus a single 2,56 module purchased kWh is PLN 11,619.01, while the ready-made set ARK 10,24 kWh costs PLN 11,635.65. The difference of PLN 16,64 on the price list from one day is practically zero, because BMS remains the same and you pay for it once (editorial arithmetic).

What the price list doesn't tell you about expansion

Three constraints are outside the table. The first are design constraints: ARK The 2.5H-A2 scales from three to ten modules, or 7,68–25,6 kWh, APX 5.0P-B1 from one to six, i.e. 5–30 kWhand the family APX Gen 2.0 is a Master plus a maximum of five modules (GROWATT-KEY-PARAMETERS.md). Once the scope is exhausted, expansion means a second chain, not another module.

The second limitation is version compatibility. The energy storage category description requires that module versions in a single string be compatible, and versions change over time—a module purchased two years later may not necessarily fit into an older stack.

The third is the simplest: the August 2026 price list is no longer valid the following year. The phased expansion shifts part of the purchase price to future prices, which no one knows today.

Price for 1 kWh capacity - how to compare offers

When comparing offers, asking how much energy storage costs becomes asking about the price per kilowatt-hour. The price of the entire system means nothing until you divide it by the capacity. Price per kilowatt-hour kWh this is the only indicator that allows you to compare the battery 5 kWh and system 50 kWhThat's why we provide it explicitly in each table.

Based on the gross list prices from August 31, 2026, the range in the items listed above looks like this:

  • Lowest: PLN 515 for 1 kWh Growatt HOPE 16.0LM-A1, one 16-liter case kWh.
  • Middle of the list: PLN 689 for 1 kWh — sets HOPE for inverters SPF, from 5 to 30 kWh.
  • Highest: PLN 1,193 for 1 kWh — HV kit ARK 7,68 kWh for inverters MID-XH.

The difference between the extreme positions is more than two-fold, and is due to the three mechanisms described above: voltage class with a separate control system, the minimum set size in a given series, and the way the series scales with capacity.

When comparing two offers, convert both into PLN per kilowatt-hour and check if each includes BMS and a base. Without it, you're comparing different things. If you're choosing between the low-voltage series alone, we've compiled a comparison of the parameters in this article. LV battery comparison Growatt.

Limit 3,000 PLN for 1 kWh in the funding program

Home Energy Storage Program Part 2 (PME 2) from the Modernization Fund sets the condition that "the price for its purchase and installation (without supporting devices, e.g. inverter, EMS system) cannot exceed PLN 3,000 per 1 kWh nominal capacity" (source: przydomowemagazyny.gov.pl, as of August 31, 2026). This is a Polish program and applies to installations performed in Poland.

Regardless of how much the energy storage costs in our tables, each item falls within this limit with a large margin - the highest price in the list is PLN 1,193 per kWhThe conditions for granting support, amounts and procedure are discussed separately in the entry about subsidy for energy storage; here we only provide prices and do not determine whether a specific investment qualifies for the program.

What else, apart from the battery, influences the cost of the set?

The tables show the cost of an energy storage system, not the cost of a complete, ready-to-use system. Several other items contribute to the cost of the entire system.

  • Hybrid inverter or battery ready inverter. It determines the system's power output and whether the building will have emergency power during a power outage. The battery alone doesn't provide this. The inverter is priced separately.
  • Module BMS and back-up box where required. MIN-XH inverters work with a back-up box SYN 50-XH-10, and MOD inverters/MID-XH from EU SYN-100-XH-30 (GROWATT-KEY-PARAMETERS.md, "back-up box" section). Sets sold as a set have BMS and the base included in the price, modules purchased individually — not necessarily.
  • Rack, base and cabling. Rack and cabinet systems require a frame; floor-standing modules require floor-mount bases.
  • Installation. Installation pricing is the responsibility of the installer. We do not provide labor rates because they depend on the facility, route length, and scope of electrical work.

The quickest way to check the battery selection for a specific inverter, including the number of modules, is to inverter and battery configurator Growatt.

Is energy storage profitable?

The question of how much energy storage costs is only half the bill. Profitability depends on how much of the photovoltaic system's production is fed back into the grid instead of consumed on-site, as well as on the household or business's consumption profile. The greater the self-consumption, the faster the storage system will recover. We don't provide a payback period here, because without consumption data, this figure would be unsupported. We describe the methodology for calculating demand in this article. kWh energy storage.

Do the prices quoted include the inverter and installation?

No. When we ask how much an energy storage system costs, we're talking about the battery itself, in the configuration described on the product card. The inverter is a separate item, and the installation cost is the responsibility of the installer.
