Energy storage subsidy in 2026 - which program is running and when is the application deadline?
In 2026, a subsidy for home energy storage will be provided under the PME 2 program. The full name is "Co-financing of home energy storage facilities, Part 2) financing from the Modernization Fund." The program is managed by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW). The budget is "up to PLN 1 billion," and the support is non-repayable.
The program website and the application regulations file provide the exact dates: October 20, 2026, 9:00 AM, and October 1, 2027, 8:00 PM. The application period is continuous—applications are accepted until the deadline or until the budget is exhausted. The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management did not provide a reason for the earlier extension.
Previous PME 1 edition is closed. Witryna describes it as "PME1 (recruitment from 30/03/2026 to 19/06/2026)". This edition had different conditions, including a minimum capacity of 2 kWhProgram Objectives, Application Deadlines, and 10+ Models kWh we describe on the website PME 2.
How much is the subsidy for energy storage - three limits applicable simultaneously
The energy storage subsidy has three limits that apply simultaneously. The program states the first two in one sentence: the subsidy is "up to 30% of eligible costs, not more than PLN 800/1kWh nominal capacity." The third limit is PLN 16,000 in the net-billing system or PLN 8,000 in the net-metering system. The subsidy is equal to the lowest of these three values.
| PME Program Item 2 | Amount or limit (quote from the program website) |
|---|---|
| Energy Storage - Cost Share | "up to 30% of eligible costs" |
| Energy Storage - Capacity Rate | "no more than 800 PLN/1kWh nominal capacity" |
| Amount limit, net-billing system | "PLN 16 for one energy storage facility" |
| Amount limit, net-metering system | "PLN 8 for one energy storage facility" |
| Supplement for a hybrid inverter or energy storage device manufactured in the EU | "up to PLN 2, but not more than 50% of the eligible cost of purchase and installation of an energy storage facility"; once |
| Heat storage | "up to 30% of eligible costs, not more than PLN 1 per heat storage facility" |
| Total maximum | no more than PLN 19,000 for one Energy Collection Point (PPE) |
| Energy storage price limit | the purchase and installation price "cannot exceed PLN 3,000 per 1 kWh nominal capacity" |
| Minimum capacity | "Capacity from 10 kWh" |
| Earliest Expenditure Date | "from November 1, 2025" |
The program's home page also states: "VAT is an eligible cost." Therefore, we calculate 30% of the gross price, i.e., the price including VAT. The PME 2 program requires that gross costs be entered in the application (point 9.2, item 7), but with a limit of PLN 3,000 per 1 kWh It doesn't explicitly state whether the price is gross. We compare the gross price with it.
The PLN 2,000 supplement applies only to devices manufactured in the European Union (EU). Growatt are made in China, so we don't include this allowance for them. The PLN 19,000 amount is the sum of all subsidy components, not the subsidy for the energy storage unit itself.
When the energy storage subsidy reaches the full PLN 16,000
The claim "PLN 16,000 for everyone" is false. The rate is PLN 800 for 1 kWh gives 16,000 PLN only from a capacity of 20 kWhThe 30% limit gives PLN 16,000 only with an eligible cost of PLN 53,333, because PLN 16,000 divided by 0,30 is PLN 53,333.
| Capacity | 800 PLN × kWh | Max subsidy | Cost needed | Cost for 1 kWh |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 kWh | 8 000 zł | 8 000 zł | 26 667 zł | 2 667 zł |
| 15 kWh | 12 000 zł | 12 000 zł | 40 000 zł | 2 667 zł |
| 20 kWh | 16 000 zł | 16 000 zł | 53 333 zł | 2 667 zł |
| 30 kWh | 24 000 zł | 16 000 zł | 53 333 zł | 1 778 zł |
| 50 kWh | 40 000 zł | 16 000 zł | 53 333 zł | 1 067 zł |
The table shows calculations for a net-billing system, not prices. "Needed cost" is the eligible cost at which 30% provides the maximum subsidy. Below 20 kWh the amount of PLN 16,000 is unattainable, and at 20 kWh requires a cost of PLN 2,667 for 1 kWh. Below approximately PLN 2,667 cost per 1 kWh (PLN 800 ÷ 0,30) the capacity rate does not limit the subsidy - the 30% limit or the amount limit decides.
Energy storage subsidy for models Growatt — how to calculate it for your offer
We don't maintain a table of subsidies calculated based on prices: prices fluctuate, and the program calculates the subsidy based on the invoice for a specific investment, including assembly. List of warehouses Growatt from 10 kWh with the current price, availability and basket - with inverters from the EMS declaration and a frame for self-checking the limit of PLN 3,000 for 1 kWh — we run on one page: home energy storage modelsThe subsidy for the selected model can be calculated using the formula from the previous section: 30% of the total price of storage and assembly, not more than PLN 800 per 1 kWh and no more than the limit for your settlement system. The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management decides on granting subsidies.

The guide discusses prices for the entire market how much does an energy storage facility cost?Separate guides describe three capacities: energy storage 15 kWh, energy storage 20 kWh and energy storage 30 kWhThe full offer is shown in the category energy storage Growatt, and you can choose the inverter for the battery in inverter and battery configurator Growatt.
Energy storage subsidy - who can get it and who is excluded
An energy storage subsidy is available to individuals who own a micro-installation connected to the grid in Poland. This individual has entered into a comprehensive agreement or an energy sales agreement. Companies and individuals with an agreement concluded in connection with business activities at the installation's address are excluded.
The program lists: "Individuals generating electricity for their own needs who have concluded a comprehensive agreement (they are a party to this agreement, not a proxy)/an energy sales agreement." The first condition is "having a renewable energy micro-installation connected to the electricity grid." Renewable energy is a renewable energy source. Support covers devices "installed in residential buildings or on the plot where the residential building is located for the Applicant's own needs."
Exclusion witThe company summarizes in parentheses: "A comprehensive agreement cannot be concluded for the business activity conducted by the Applicant." The installation company selects the equipment and prepares the documents, and the application is submitted by the client.
Territorial scope: Poland only
The program's goal is to store energy "within the territory of the Republic of Poland." The application requires a certificate from the grid operator, i.e., the distribution system operator (DSO). A person residing abroad can act through a proxy, but the investment must be in Poland. If you are reading this outside of Poland, the amounts and deadlines provided do not apply to your investment.
Net-billing or net-metering — PLN 16,000 or PLN 8,000
The amount limit depends on the prosumer's billing system. Net billing is the value-based billing of surplus energy, while net metering is the quantity-based billing.
Prosumers in the net-metering system will also receive a subsidy. The program website explicitly lists a limit of "PLN 8,000 per energy storage unit" for volume settlement. With an eligible cost of up to PLN 26,667, both systems provide the same amount: 30% of PLN 26,667 is PLN 8,000.
You can check your billing system in your comprehensive agreement or energy sales agreement. We do not recommend changing your billing system.
Energy Storage Grant 2026 - What to Do Before the Call for Applications
The 2026 energy storage subsidy doesn't require the investment to be made until the application deadline. The program also accounts for expenses incurred earlier. The condition is: "Date of purchase (incurring expenses), installation, and notification to the operator from November 1, 2025." Therefore, an investment with an invoice dated October 2025 is not eligible for the program.
The list of attachments shows that the application concerns a completed and paid investment. previous edition witThe market stated directly: "On the date of submitting the application, the equipment must be fully paid for and installed." The PME 2 program states it directly: funding "is granted for projects completed before the date of submitting the application for funding" (point 7.3, subparagraph 13).
As of October 2026, the program website will contain files detailing the priority program and recruitment regulations . These specify, among other things, that the devices must be new, manufactured within 24 months of installation, that transport, shipping, forwarding, and customs duties are not eligible costs, and that the devices must be used for at least 5 years from the grant payment (program, section 7.3, items 10, 15, and 16).
There are four things you can do before the application deadline:
- Calendar. Please check that the purchase, installation and reporting dates are from November 1, 2025.
- Devices. Calculate twice the target photovoltaic power. After expanding the panels, the energy storage may no longer meet this requirement.
- Documents. Collect transfer confirmation, product cards, photos and bank account confirmation.
- Access. Create a trusted profile or prepare an e-ID.
The application deadline is announced exclusively by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. Please check the application deadline and application rules at przydomowemagazyny.gov.pl and in the application regulations.
For an installation company: three rules when preparing an offer
- Don't enter PLN 16,000 in your quote for the client. Use the lowest of the three values for that client's invoice.
- Show a separate line item on the invoice: energy storage with installation. Limit PLN 3,000 per 1 kWh counts without inverter and without EMS system.
- Establish the content of the acceptance protocol prior to installation. The protocol must include the name, type, and functionality of the EMS system.
Device conditions: 10 kWh, twice the photovoltaic power, EMS and island operation
The program sets five conditions for the equipment that must be met jointly, and adds to them the requirement of permanent installation at the installation address:
- nominal capacity "from 10 kWh";
- capacity in watt-hours "equal to or greater than twice the peak power of the PV installation", i.e. 20 kWh for a 10 kWp installation;
- purchase and installation price of an energy storage unit up to PLN 3,000 per unit kWh, "without supporting devices, e.g. inverter, EMS system";
- demonstration of island operation, "understood as emergency power supply", by an inverter or set of devices;
- EMS system; the system can be built into the inverter or external and must meet cybersecurity requirements;
- permanent installation: "The device must be permanently installed at the address where the RES micro-installation was installed."
The program also excludes two groups of devices: "Mobile energy storage devices, e.g., vehicles and traction storage devices, are excluded." The second provision: "Batteries are not permitted as electricity storage devices, in particular self-assembled batteries/kits or other solutions that do not have certification confirming their compliance with applicable safety standards and program requirements."
Does the energy storage facility need to have EMS and emergency power supply?
Yes. The program requires both functions and states: "Simple controllers or visualization applications are NOT considered EMS."
For brand hybrid inverters Growatt we share manufacturer's declaration Growatt regarding EMS (PDF)The declaration covers the requirements of the CRA, the RED DA delegated act and the ETSI EN 303 645 standard. The declaration has three limitations: it does not mention NIS2, it does not cover the series SPF, and price and weather analysis requires the AI Smart Scheduling Mode service. The final assessment is made by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
Details are provided in the guide on what magazines are eligible for funding.
What is the minimum energy storage capacity for subsidy?
The minimum energy storage capacity in PME 2 is 10 kWh and grows with the power of photovoltaics: 16 kWh for an 8 kWp installation, 20 kWh at 10 kWp. Warehouse 10 kWh is sufficient only for photovoltaics up to 5 kWp. The upper limit of the subsidy is then PLN 8,000 (PLN 800 × 10 kWh) and requires an eligible cost of at least approximately PLN 26,667; for lower costs, the subsidy is 30% of the cost.
Heat storage and hybrid inverter in the program
The program also covers heat storage and a hybrid inverter. For heat storage, the program specifies: "Minimum heat storage capacity – no less than 100 dm3." The subsidy covers "only heat storage units manufactured within the EU."
A hybrid inverter can only be reported "when applying for funding for an energy storage unit." The program includes the inverter in eligible costs only if it was manufactured in the EU (point 6.1, item 3 with a footnote), and with the same condition, additional funding is linked (point 7.3, item 4). The program's FAQ adds that the energy storage unit must also be manufactured in the EU, and the need to replace the inverter must be documented, e.g. with a disassembly or disposal report of the previous one (question 9). You can select an inverter for the battery in inverter and battery configurator Growatt.
Applying for a subsidy for energy storage step by step - GWD, documents, typical errors
Applications for energy storage subsidies must be submitted exclusively electronically, using the Funding Application Generator (GWD) maintained by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW). The application must be accompanied by 10 required documents (a power of attorney and a document confirming net billing—only in the situations described in the table) and, optionally, other documents that may impact the assessment. Failure to submit a single required attachment will result in the application being rejected without the possibility of amendment.
The generator runs at gwd.nfosigw.gov.pl. WitThe program website states: "A trusted profile or e-ID is required to create an account with GWD." The link to the form "will be available on the opening day of the recruitment process."

| 1 | Invoice or invoices | The content must "clearly identify the device." For a collective invoice witThe market requires a "specification indicating the breakdown of costs." A change in the invoice content is confirmed only by a correction invoice; the application is accompanied by a "correction invoice and a corrected invoice." Instead of an invoice witThe market also allows for another personal sales document, for example a personal receipt. |
| 2 | Payment confirmation | A transfer confirmation or a KP document, and for loan financing, a payment confirmation from the bank (program, section 9.2, item 8). For a KP document, the invoice must include a note stating that the payment was made in cash, "with an indication of the date of payment." The note "paid," a loan agreement, or the note "PayU payment" are not sufficient. |
| 3 | OSD certificate on the connection of a micro-installation with an energy storage facility | The document must be consistent with the "CURRENTLY APPLICABLE TEMPLATE." The document includes the PPE number and energy storage unit details. The certificate based on the old template will need to be supplemented. |

| 10 | DNSH Statement | DNSH (Do No Significant Harm) compliance statement, using the applicable template. The template file is located at witprogram market in the September 2026 catalog. |
What are the most common errors in grant applications?
WitThe program does not publish error statistics, but describes five situations that end with the application being rejected or corrected:
- Missing required attachment. Witryna warns: "If the required attachment is not attached to the application, the application WILL BE REJECTED WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF CORRECTION."
- The document is on a form that does not comply with the required format.
- Password protected file or file that cannot be opened. Witryna treats errors 2 and 3 as missing document.
- Attachment in an editable format. For example, PDF or JPG is required.
- Edited photos. Don't crop or brighten photos, as the machine checks for any edits.
Once the application has been submitted, attachments cannot be replaced. The procedure provides for corrections: the applicant receives a System Message informing them of "what needs to be corrected or supplemented in the application." According to the recruitment regulations, failure to meet the access criterion means rejection without the possibility of correction, while omissions or errors in the attached document will result in a request for supplementation, a maximum of two times, each time within 10 business days (§5, sections 3, 4, and 6). Current templates for the OSD certificate, acceptance protocol, power of attorney, and DNSH declaration can be downloaded on the day of submitting the application from the " how to obtain funding" website.
How long does it take to process an application and when will the grant be paid?
WitThe program schedule provides estimated stage dates in working days.
| Etap | Tuemin provided by the program website |
|---|---|
| Application registration | up to 2 business days from dispatch in GWD |
| Application evaluation | up to 120 business days from registration |
| Re-evaluation after correction | up to 30 business days from completion |
| Information about the positive consideration of the application or about the rejection of the application | up to 1 business day from application evaluation |
| Resolution of the Management Board of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management | up to 20 business days from the end of the assessment |
| Notification of grant award | up to 3 business days from the resolution |
| Conclusion of the contract | up to 10 business days from the entry into force of the resolution |
| Withdrawal to bank account | up to 20 business days from notification of the grant award |
The deadlines given on the program website show a total of 165 working days without correction (2 + 120 + 20 + 3 + 20), i.e. approximately 8 months from submitting the application to payment - this is our calculation, not the current one.min z witprogram markets.
We don't add the "up to 1 business day" stage because this stage and the resolution are counted from the same application evaluation. We also don't add the "contract conclusion" stage (up to 10 business days). This stage is counted from the resolution, just like the notification of the grant award. Notification and payment together take up to 23 business days, which is longer than the conclusion of the agreement. Corrections add up to 30 business days.
According to the recruitment regulations (§3 section 1), effective October 20, 2026, some deadlines are given in days, without the notation "working days": registration within 2 days, evaluation within 120 days, resolution within 20 days, and contract within 10 days of the resolution's effective date. The order of the final stages is different: first, the contract, then notification within 3 days of its conclusion, and payment within 20 business days of the contract's conclusion. These deadlines are indicative (§3 section 5).
Witryna stipulates that the deadlines are "indicative" and that the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management may extend them. Applications are assessed "in accordance with their registration date."
Subsidies for energy storage in 2026 - NFOŚiGW program, thermal modernization relief, Mój Prąd
Funding for energy storage facilities in 2026 will come in two forms, which we confirmed in witgovernment markets: a subsidy from PME 2 and a thermal modernisation relief in income tax. Ministry of Climate and Environment states: "From January 1, 2025, owners or co-owners of single-family houses can also benefit from the thermal modernization tax relief for the purchase and installation of energy storage facilities."
The deduction limit is PLN 53,000 per person, and "in the case of a married couple, this amount may amount to PLN 106,000." The basis is the regulation of December 19, 2024 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1943).
Combining relief with a subsidy is governed by the PME 2 program: if you settle the cost of subsidized equipment under the thermal modernization relief, the deductible amount is reduced by the amount of the subsidy received (section 7.3, item 20). The subsidy itself is not taxable (section 9.2, item 6). Confirm your settlement method with the National Tax Information Service or a tax advisor.

Beware of cheats
Witgutter mojprad.gov.pl warns: "If someone offers 'assistance in applying for Mój Prąd 7.0,' sells a 'subsidy guarantee,' charges registration fees, or refers to 'last available places in the program' – it's an attempt at fraud." The PME 2 application is submitted electronically to the General Electrician's Office (GWD), with the recruitment period starting October 20, 2026 – no one can sell you a place in the queue. The subsidy is awarded exclusively by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, not by the seller or installation company.
Energy Storage Grant - Frequently Asked Questions
How much is the subsidy for energy storage in 2026?
The subsidy from the PME 2 program amounts to up to 30% of eligible costs and a maximum of PLN 800 per 1 kWh The limit is PLN 16,000 in the net-billing system or PLN 8,000 in the net-metering system. The lowest of these three values applies.
When does the application process for the energy storage subsidy start?
October 20, 2026 at 9:00 AM - so it says witprogram market (as of October 2, 2026). Recruitment is continuous and will last until October 1, 2027 (20:00 PM) or until the budget is exhausted. On August 31, 2026, the program website indicated the third quarter of 2026, and on September 25, 2026, the fourth quarter.
Will I get a PLN 16,000 subsidy for an energy storage facility?
Only if the eligible cost is at least PLN 53,333 and the capacity is at least 20 kWhThis applies to the net-billing system. For lower costs, the subsidy is 30% of the cost: for example, PLN 9,000 for a cost of PLN 30,000 (assumed cost, not from the price list).
Is the energy storage subsidy available to companies?
No. The applicant must be an individual generating energy for their own needs. The program excludes comprehensive contracts concluded in connection with business activities involving micro-installations.
Will I get funding for an energy storage facility without photovoltaics?
No. The first condition of the program is "having a renewable energy micro-installation connected to the electricity grid." The energy storage device must be installed at the address of this micro-installation.
Is there funding for photovoltaics with energy storage?
The PME 2 program does not subsidize solar panels. The "Types of Projects" section contains three items: "Purchase and Installation of Electricity Storage," "Purchase and Installation of Heat Storage," and "Purchase and Installation of a Hybrid Inverter." Micro-installations are a condition of the subsidy, not its subject.
Does Mój Prąd still provide subsidies for energy storage?
The My Electricity program is not accepting new applications. Witryna mojprad.gov.pl informs that the "Mój Prąd 7.0" program will not be launched "in the current formula." The same witryna refers to przydomowemagazyny.gov.pl as a new program "following the My Current program".
Does the grant cover energy storage purchased before the call for applications?
Yes, if the purchase, installation and notification to the network operator (DSO) took place from 1 November 2025. The application is submitted after the investment is completed, when everything has been paid, installed and reported to the DSO (PME 2 program, point 7.3 item 13).
Is there an energy storage subsidy available under the net-metering system?
Yes. The limit is PLN 8,000 in the net-metering system, i.e., with volume settlement, and PLN 16,000 in the net-billing system.
Can the energy storage subsidy be combined with the thermal modernization tax relief?
Yes, but the deductible amount is reduced by the amount of the subsidy received (PME 2 program, section 7.3, item 20). The relief covers energy storage facilities from January 1, 2025, with a limit of PLN 53,000 per person. Ask the National Tax Information Service or a tax advisor.
