Certificate Growatt for OSD reporting - EN 50549-1, NC RfG and PTPIREE (series map)

Data verified 2026-08-12 Each parameter with indicated source - list at the bottom of the article.

In brief

Certificate Growatt Intertek issues an installation report: inverters WIT 29.9-50K-XHU have a Polish NC RfG certificate no. CN-PVES-250176 valid until April 16, 2030, MID — EN 50549-1:2019 certificate no. CN-PV-230075, and microinverters NEO 1600-2500M-X2 — certificate CN-PVES-250116. Below is a map: which document covers which model and what exactly does it confirm.

Submitting a photovoltaic installation or energy storage system to a distribution system operator (DSO) effectively involves gathering attachments. The lists of required documents vary between DSOs and change over time, so always work with your DSO's current list. This article summarizes what remains constant on the hardware side: what certificates have been issued for inverters. Growatt sold in Poland, what numbers they carry, which models they list by name, and what exactly the certification body assessed. All numbers and model ranges come directly from Intertek certificates, which we provide in the documentation section - each table includes a link to the specific document page. This allows the certificate to be validated. Growatt you can find the solution to a specific request in a minute, instead of searching blindly through the manufacturer's download center.

What certificate Growatt submit when reporting the installation to the DSO?

In short: for hybrid inverters WIT and microinverters NEO There are certificates issued in Polish, which in one document refer to the NC RfG grid code, the PSE requirements of December 18, 2018, and the PTPIREE 2021-04 procedure. For grid inverters MID and MIC, the basic document is a certificate of compliance with the EN 50549-1 standard. Which of these documents is included in the report depends on your operator's list - certificate Growatt you select the inverter model from the invoice, exactly as it appears on the nameplate.

Element Value
Network Code referenced in the certificate Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/631 of 14 April 2016 (NC RfG), OJ L 112/1 of 27 April 2016
National requirements mentioned in the certificate PSE, December 18, 2018 - General Application Requirements
Assessment procedure PTPIREE 2021-04, Chapters 7 and 9 - Type Approval for PPM Type A and B
European standard EN 50549-1:2019 (part of certificates: +A1:2023 and EN 50549-10:2022)
Certification body Intertek Testing Services Ltd. Shanghai, ACCREDIA accreditation according to ISO/IEC 17065:2012, PRD N° 306B
Sample validity CN-PVES-250176: issued on 17/04/2025, valid until 16/04/2030

Certificates from the NC RfG family refer to "type approval for PPM types A and B"—meaning they cover both classes of power generating modules described in the grid code. The type of a specific installation falls into is determined by the regulations and the operator based on the connection capacity; the equipment certificate covers both cases, so from a document preparation perspective, you don't have to decide this yourself.

Which certificate Growatt does your inverter cover? Series Matrix

Certificate Growatt NC RfG No. CN-PVES-250176 for inverters WIT — cover page with model range and validity until April 16, 2030
Certificate of Conformity CN-PVES-250176 (Intertek) for WIT 29.9-50K-XHU/XHU2, p. 1. Material: Intertek / Growatt.

The certificate is valid only for the models listed by name. Before submitting the document, locate your model in the "Covered Models" column—the suffix is important: WIT 30K-XHU i WIT 30K-XHU2 are two different items in the certificates, and MID 40KTL3-X2 is not the same as MID 40KTL3-XCounting the entries from the five certificates referenced below, the lists cover a total of 65 inverter models (our summary of the lists).

WIT 29.9-50K-XHU / XHU2 8 models: WIT 29.9K/30K/36K-XHU2 and WIT 29.9K/30K/36K/40K/50K-XHU NC RfG + PSE 2018-12 + EN 50549-1:2019, PTPIREE assessment for type A and B; document in Polish, valid until 16/04/2030 CN-PVES-250176 NC RfG certificate (PL) · EN 50549-1/-10

Two conclusions from the matrix itself (both result from comparing the model lists, not from additional knowledge). First: the units WIT The 29.9-36K XHU2 versions are only certified in CN-PVES-250176 - if you are installing an XHU2, this is the only document on this list that mentions this suffix. Secondly: the certificate MID No. CN-PV-230075 concerns type B approval, while MIC certificates, NEO i WIT include type A and B - for small installations on MID It is therefore worth having the remaining attachments from the operator's list in the set.

One more thing to look out for in the matrix: for hybrid inverters WIT each power range has a separate certificate Growatt — the 4-25 kW range is described by CN-PVES-250504 and CN-PVES-250394, and the 29.9-50 kW range is described only by CN-PVES-250176. Therefore, in applications for farms with several units of different powers, you need two sets of documents, even if all the inverters come from the same series.

What does the NC RfG certificate issued according to PTPIREE 2021-04 confirm?

Table of NC RfG and PSE 2018-12 functions assessed by PTPIREE 2021-04 - all eight items scored Pass
Functions assessed according to chapters 7 and 9 of PTPIREE 2021-04 - Certificate CN-PVES-250176, p. 2. Material: Intertek / Growatt.

Polish-language certificates Growatt (WIT: CN-PVES-250176, NEO: CN-PVES-250116) have on the second page a table of features assessed "based on the rules for the application of the certificate for Power Park modules as specified in chapters 7 and 9 of PTPIREE 2021-04". It is this table that tells the operator that the inverter has passed the assessment of specific capabilities from the grid code. For WIT it looks like this:

Assessed ability NC RfG PSE 2018-12 Type A Type B Score
frequency range 13.1 (a) 13.1(a)(i) so so Compatible
Rate of change of frequency (RoCoF, df/dt) 13.1 (b) 13.1 (b) so so Compatible
Remote cessation of active power generation 13.6 13.6 so so Compatible
Remote control of active power 14.2 14.2 (b) so Compatible
LFSM-O - Power reduction with increasing frequency 13.2 13.2(a),(b),(f) so so Compatible
Resistance to voltage dips (connections below 110 kV) 14.3 14.2(a)(i),(b) so Compatible
Fast fault current, symmetrical and asymmetrical interference 20.2(b),(c) 20.2(b),(c) so Compatible
Post-fault active power recovery 20.3 20.3 (a) so Compatible

In the certificate NEO the table is shorter – four capabilities assessed for type A: frequency range, RoCoF, remote active power shutdown, and LFSM-O, all with a "Compliant" result. In practice: when an operator asks about a specific capability (most often LFSM-O or remote power control), the quickest response is a screenshot of the certificate page with the item underlined – the numbering in the columns corresponds to the articles of the regulation, so verification on the DSO side takes a moment.

The assessment itself is carried out in the type 1a certification program according to ISO/IEC 17067:2013, based on the test report (for WIT: report no. 250318095GZU-001 of April 16, 2025). The certificate also indicates the production plant in Huizhou - this information is required by some lists to be consistent with the declaration of conformity, so it is good to know that the document states it directly.

What security settings does the EN 50549-1 certificate include?

The annex of each EN 50549 certificate ends with the table "Interface protection settings" — ranges of interface protection settings that the inverter can accept. The values are identical in the certificates WIT, MID and MIC:

Safeguard Max disconnection time Min. operating time Threshold setting range
Undervoltage, stage 1 [27<] 100 s 0,1 s (0,1 s step) 0,2-1,0 Un (step 0,01 Un)
Undervoltage, stage 2 [27<<] 5 s 0,1 s (0,05 s step) 0,2-1,0 Un
Overvoltage, stage 1 [59>] 100 s 0,1 s 1,0-1,2 Un
Overvoltage, stage 2 [59>>] 5 s 0,1 s 1,0-1,3 Un
Overvoltage from 10-minute average ≤3 s (not adjustable) delay 0 ms 1,0-1,15 Un
Underfrequency, stage 1 [81<] 100 s 0,1 s 47,0-50,0 Hz (0,1 Hz step)
Underfrequency, stage 2 [81<<] 5 s 0,1 s 47,0 50,0-Hz
Overfrequency, grade 1 [81>] 100 s 0,1 s 50,0 52,0-Hz

This table describes the hardware capabilities, not a ready-made configuration: specific thresholds and times for a given installation are set during commissioning in accordance with the operator's connection conditions (this is the installer's practice, not the content of the certificate). The certificate serves as proof that the values required by the DSO are within the inverter's adjustable ranges—and for this very purpose, it is included in correspondence when agreeing on settings. If the operator returns the settings form for confirmation, the certificate Growatt with this table is the document you are referring to.

What is the difference between the EN 50549-1 certificate and the NC RfG certificate?

These are two different levels of the same topic - and that's why more than one certificate Growatt It appears in the database in two variants for the same series. EN 50549-1 is a European standard: "Requirements for power plants connected in parallel to distribution networks, Part 1: Connection to the low-voltage network, power plants up to and including type B"—a certificate of conformity confirms the results of type testing (Part 10 of the standard, EN 50549-10:2022, describes the tests themselves). NC RfG, on the other hand, is the EU network code—Regulation 2016/631—and the "NC RfG" certificate confirms the assessment of the capabilities required by this code, in Poland conducted according to the PTPIREE procedure, citing PSE requirements.

Polish language certificates for WIT i NEO combine both levels in one document: on the first page they refer to the regulation and PSE requirements, and on the second page - compliance with EN 50549-1:2019. Be careful with the editions of the standard, because they differ between documents: MIC and WIT 4-25K refer to EN 50549-1:2019+A1:2023, and the certificate MID and a Polish certificate WIT 29.9-50K - EN 50549-1:2019 without amendment. If the operator's list indicates a specific edition, check the title page of the document you are sending - the difference may be the basis for a request for amendment.

What other documents are in the database next to the certificates?

The document pages in our database contain everything needed for registration and acceptance, in addition to the grid certificate itself. For the series listed, you'll also find CE certificates (LVD and EMC), and for markets outside Poland, national documents: German VDE-AR-N 4105 and Belgian C10/C11 for microinverters. NEO, Spanish UNE 217002 and RD 413/647/1699 for MID or the Italian CEI 0-16 and the French version EN 50549-1/-10 for WIT 29.9-50K-XHU. If you are installing abroad, please refer to the documentation page for your model in documentation database — the mapping "country → required certificate" looks identical there as in the Polish matrix above, only the document you send changes.

It's also worth knowing that the catalog card and certificate describe the same equipment from two perspectives: the card provides commercial specifications and full technical tables, while the certificate lists the models, rated capabilities, and setting ranges. If there's a discrepancy between the two, the certificate takes precedence. Growatt, because it is the approval document; in such situations, we provide both values and indicate the source of each. This is rare, but when quickly copying data from the card to the application form, it's easy to transfer a number that the certificate doesn't confirm. Therefore, take the data for the form from the certificate and treat the card as a supplement.

What NOT to do when completing documents

  • Do not send the certificate MID for models without "2" in the suffix. CN-PV-230075 only lists the KTL3-XL2 and KTL3-X2 versions - the older MID 40KTL3-X is not listed.
  • Don't assume that an XHU certificate "fixes" XHU2. In the 4-25 kW range, both certificates (CN-PVES-250504, CN-PVES-250394) only list the XHU and HU versions; the XHU2 suffix only appears in CN-PVES-250176 for the 29.9-36 kW power range.
  • Do not confuse the HU series with the XHU when entering the model in your entry. These are other battery designs: WIT 17-25K-HU works with a 40-60 VDC battery at a current of up to 420 A, and XHU — with a 120-800 VDC battery and a current of 55 A. The model in the application must match the plate, invoice and certificate at the same time.
  • Do not modify certificate PDF files (merging, page trimming, additions). The certificate number is verifiable with the issuer; send the original file in its entirety—the attachment with the model and settings table is an integral part of the document (a practice that saves requests for supplementation).

From the installer's practice

  • Complete the attachments with a set: catalog card + certificate + installation diagram, according to the current list of your DSO - the names of the documents in the operator lists may be different, but they can always be mapped to the above matrix.
  • Save files with the certificate number in the name (e.g. "CN-PVES-250176_WIT_NC-RfG.pdf”) - when submitting several applications at once, this is the only way to avoid sending a document from a different series.
  • Check validity: certificate Growatt for WIT in Polish, valid from 17/04/2025 to 16/04/2030 - after this date, please check the documentation section for a newer revision before submitting your application.
  • When the operator's list requests a document that you do not see in our database (e.g. MIC certificate no. CN-PVES-250300), please write to the technical department PVGroup.pl — we provide source files upon request; certificate Growatt from this list you will get the original, without any modifications.
