How Growatt RISE 261H-XH

Growatt RISE 261H-XH works in mode on-grid i off-grid and controls the flow of energy between the PV system, battery, grid, and loads. With the grid present, the inverter sets the priority:

• Pickup priority — PV energy first powers the facility, the surplus charges the battery, and any further surplus goes to the grid (unless export is limited). When PV is insufficient, the battery supplies the missing power, and ultimately the grid.
• Battery priority — PV charges the storage first; the loads (and the battery, if it has not reached its maximum charging power) are powered by the grid.
• Network priority — PV and battery power the loads, and the rest is fed into the grid.

According to the diagram in the system document, priority loads are connected to the cabinet's backup output, while secondary loads remain on the grid side; a meter with 600/5 A current transformers is installed at the grid exchange point. In the event of a grid outage, priority loads remain powered by batteries and PV, while secondary loads lose power. A manual bypass allows priority loads to be switched to grid power when the warehouse requires maintenance.

Capacity. Growatt RISE 261H-XH on 261 kWh at DOD 95%. In the system document for the project in Poland (PV approx. 150 kWp, transformer 160 kVA, average load 50–60 kW) Growatt assumed a working window of 10–90% SOC, i.e. approximately 209 kWh usable capacity per cycle, based on one cycle per day. With 3,8 hours of effective sunlight, the PV surplus partially charges the storage, and the rest can be recharged from the grid in a cheaper zone. Installation and operation

Growatt RISE 261H-XH can be placed indoors and outdoors (IP55, −25…+55 °C, up to 3000 m above sea level). The manufacturer requires at least 0,8 m distance from the wall and 1,1 m between adjacent units (drawing in the system document: ≥ 0,6 m at the sides, ≥ 0,8 m at the rear) and recommends 2,5 m of free space for a forklift at the front; the air inlets and outlets must remain unobstructed. The cabinet measures 1400 × 2150 × 1300 mm and weighs 2,6 t — unloading and foundation must be planned before delivery (the foundation and anchoring requirements are described in instruction 202608; a paved access road for transport is our practice). The AC connection is 3P4W+PE, 380/400 V, max. 250 A at the input. The battery is liquid-cooled, the inverter section air-cooled, and the fire extinguishing system is integrated. Installation and commissioning are performed by a qualified installer in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and connection conditions.

Economics - Why Magazine 261 kWh in company

A C&I class magazine makes money on three mechanisms. Auto-consumption: the PV energy that the facility does not use at noon goes to the battery and is released in the afternoon or evening instead of to the grid. Peak shaving: the battery covers short consumption peaks, so the contracted power and fees depending on the ordered or peak power (depending on the tariff and country) may be lower, and the connection does not require expansion. Tariff arbitration: charging in a cheaper zone, discharging in a more expensive one.
