Growatt APX 5 kWh – the entire energy storage in one housing
Growatt APX 5 kWh is the smallest complete family configuration Growatt APX HV Battery 2.0. It is marked in the manufacturer's catalog card APX 5.0M-S3 and is the only one in the series that consists of one element - the master module APX 5.0M-B3. Master has his own 5 kWh capacity and all system electronics in the same housing, so there is no need to add a second box or a separate controller to run the warehouse.
What distinguishes 2.0 from older generations APX
Family APX has three generations and just at 5 kWh The difference between them is most visible. In the first generation (models P-S0, P-S1, P-S2) and in the intermediate generation (P-S3, P-S4), the Power Module was at the top of the column - just the control electronics, without a single kilowatt-hour capacity, so 5 kWh required two boxes. In the series APX 5.0-30.0M-S3 this role was taken over by the master module APX 5.0M-B3 with my own 5 kWh, so the same warehouse is now one housing.

The base is included. The master module comes pre-assembled with the base, and the packing list includes the base and wall mount—no need to purchase a stand or a separate battery management box.

Single-phase installation? This kit will replace your meter at no extra charge. Maximum charging and discharging power of configuration 5 kWh is 2,5 kW, and the peak power is 3,5 kW for 10 seconds - identical in single-phase and three-phase systems. This is a number worth checking before purchasing if the storage facility is to support the facility during a grid outage: 5 kWh energy reserve and 2,5 kW of power are two different parameters and the latter determines how many loads can be activated simultaneously.

At 5 kWh The column is 425 mm high and weighs 53,2 kg, making it the only one in the series that can realistically fit in a wall-mounted scenario—for example, in a boiler room or garage, where floor space is occupied. The data sheet allows for both mounting options, but the footnote to the table explicitly states that for wall mounting, you must ensure the wall can support the weight, and that the manufacturer recommends floor mounting.
