Growatt APX 45 kWh – two columns of different heights
Growatt APX 45 kWh is a two-cluster configuration of the family Growatt APX HV Battery 2.0: two master modules APX 5.0M-B3 and seven battery modules APX 5.0P-B3The seven modules cannot be divided evenly, so the columns are of different heights - we suggest a 25 + 20 division kWh.
Architecture 2.0 with uneven module division
Each cluster in the family APX 2.0 is a standalone system: it has its own master module APX 5.0M-B3 with battery management and own 5 kWh in this module. Thanks to this, the columns do not have to have the same capacity - the first one can have five modules, the second four, and each remains the configuration described in the catalog card.
Set composition 45 kWh
Configuration 45 kWh are two clusters working in parallel, nine elements in total: two master modules APX 5.0M-B3 i seven battery modules APX 5.0P-B3Each cluster has its own master module with battery management and its own capacity of 5 kWh in this module.
- Cluster 1 - 25 kWh (APX 25.0M-S3): 1 × APX 5.0M-B3 + 4 × APX 5.0P-B3.
- Cluster 2 - 20 kWh (APX 20.0M-S3): 1 × APX 5.0M-B3 + 3 × APX 5.0P-B3.
We've chosen the division so that each column individually matches the configuration on the catalog card. The card doesn't dictate this, and the columns don't have to be of equal capacity—we confirm the configuration when ordering.
The base is included. The master module comes pre-assembled with the base, and the packing list includes the base and wall mount—no need to purchase a stand or a separate battery management box.
A three-phase smart meter is included in the set. This is a three-phase smart meter Growatt for energy measurement, index 00005 in our catalogue. It does not need to be purchased separately. See the meter card
Single-phase installation? This kit will replace your meter at no extra charge. It has a three-phase meter, and the series instruction manual (chapter 1.1) mentions cooperation APX 2.0 also with single-phase inverters MIN-XH i MIN-XH2If this kit is for a single-phase installation, we will replace the meter with a single-phase one at no extra charge—just specify this in the "Order Notes" field when placing your order. The replacement applies to this kit: the master module and battery module, purchased separately, do not include the meter.
The complete set of cables runs in the master module — the cascade cabling cannot be purchased separately; this is commercial information PVGroup.pl, not a record from a catalog card. A separate item remains connecting element (adapting piece), i.e., the mechanical connection of two columns: the master module accessories bag contains only M6 expansion bolts and M4 screws. This item is not in the catalog today PVGroup.pl — please contact us before ordering.
How many clusters can be connected? The instructions provide for a cascade of two or three systems APX M-S3, and the limit is set by the inverter: series MID-HU supports up to three clusters, series MID-XH – up to two. For the MOD series, the manual doesn't specify this, and we haven't verified it. This configuration runs on two clusters, so it falls within both documented limits.
Who is this capacity for?
- Variable profile production plants - 45. kWh provides a margin for transferring consumption from expensive to cheap hours without oversizing the installation.
- Installations with reserves for expansion — up to 60 kWh two clusters are missing three battery modules, without changing the architecture.
The division 25 + 20 and what results from it
We divide the seven battery modules into four and three, which gives us a cluster APX 25.0M-S3 and cluster APX 20.0M-S3Both have their own lines in the manufacturer's data sheet: the first 10 kW maximum in single-phase and 12,5 kW in three-phase, the second 10 kW in both systems.

The data sheet does not provide maximum or peak power for a dual-cluster configuration, therefore these rows are not included in the table. The data sheet does not include depth of discharge, round-trip efficiency, or number of cycles.

Installation and working conditions
When dividing 25 + 20 kWh The columns are 1485 and 1220 mm high, respectively, and weigh 233,2 and 188,2 kg. Double-cluster operation is only permitted for floor mounting. The height difference between the columns is important when planning the technical room and routing cable runs.
- Degree of protection IP66 and natural cooling, without fans.
- Operating temperature range from -20 to 55 °C — the card lists the heating foil as part of the system equipment.
- Relative humidity 5–95% and work up to 4000 m above sea level.
- Distance between columns 150 mm, and from the wall 25–40 mm - dimensions from the instruction manual for a two-column system.
Compatible inverters
The user manual indicates cooperation with single-phase inverters of the MIN-XH and MIN-XH2 series, and with three-phase inverters - with the MOD and MIDThese are the only families listed in the manufacturer's document and we only declare them.
The inverter is the second system limitation, next to battery capacity. The data sheet stipulates that the system's power is limited by the inverter's maximum charge and discharge power. Submit your inverter model and we'll confirm the kit before purchase. If the inverter isn't already in your project, start with the three-phase hybrid inverters category.

Because seven battery modules can't be divided evenly into two columns. With our division, one column has four modules, the other three, which corresponds to the configurations APX 25.0M-S3 i APX 20.0M-S3.
Is it from 45? kWh Is it possible to achieve a larger capacity?
Yes. Within two clusters, it reaches 60 kWh and this is where our configuration offer ends APX 2.0. The manual itself also allows a third cluster, depending on the inverter.
